Chief Instructor Mark Davies is a Close Combat Instructor with elements of UK Special Forces, who use his Tactical Edge Military Combatives System in combat zones worldwide. Tactical Edge was founded by Mark Davies. Mark is one of the UK's most experienced & widely qualified Combatives Instructors. Mark isn't "just another martial arts instructor" claiming to teach self defence. Mark has almost 30 years of martial arts experience, & has earned blackbelt/instructors credentials in 8 different martial arts. He is the only person in Europe certified as a Full Instructor under the World renowned edged weapons expert, Master at Arms James A Keating; & he is the European Affiliate for his Combat Technologies system. What makes Mark different is his first hand experience of interpersonal conflict & violence. Mark spent 19 years applying his methods in real life working in nightclub security on some of the most violent areas in the UK, working with Special Forces units, & in high risk VIP protection. He understands the reality of defensive combat, & has personally faced all manner of armed & unarmed attacks. Mark has been teaching self defence in Scotland, the UK & abroad since 1987. He is now the leading provider of personal safety training in Scotland.

It is this experience that has led to Mark being widely regarded as one of the worlds leading authorities on Reality Based Self Defence, Close Quarter Combat & Applied Edged Weapons Combatives & Counter weapons skills.What others teach from theory, we teach from experience. Tactical Edge

Tactical Edge is a Conceptual System. Its unique strength lies in what we call 'commonality of movement'. This means that the body movement in its unarmed techniques mirror those in its weaponised techniques. Our initial defensive matrix is created to always assume that the attacker is armed until proved otherwise, & it works as a 'startle/flinch conversion' or as a deliberate defence. Unlike some other systems our initial defence training leads into an effective series of countermeasures, all of which can be geared to the force ladder you require.
